Unit 2: Poverty, Hunger & Food Security

The world produces enough food to feed everyone. And yet, there are countries, regions, villages, households and individuals that are not able to meet their food needs.

According to World Vision Canada, "food security is when everyone has enough nutritious food to focus upon other needs. Food security exists when individuals are no longer enslaved to hunger - when people are free to enjoy a healthy and active life."

But how and why do people go hungry?
What needs to change to improve this situation?
These are the questions this unit tackles.
