Unit 3: Poverty, Health & HIV/AIDS
There are 38 million people in the world living with HIV/AIDS. More than two thirds are in Africa. HIV/AIDS is a global epidemic that is devastating one continent more than any other. In Africa it kills entire families and affects the livelihoods of entire communities. This makes it even more difficult for Africa to get out of extreme poverty. Education is the key to preventing HIV infection.
This unit focuses on HIV/AIDS education; it dispels the myths about HIV/AIDS and looks at what can be done to help stop its spread worldwide.
